TheGetDiscipledProject.com exists to equip the church with the necessary tools for teaching people to joyfully obey everything Jesus commanded.
Our primary audience is sober-minded church leaders who want to leverage their influence for the multiplication of disciples of Jesus. But we also have a secondary audience--namely, individual Christ followers and disciple-making small groups looking for practical material for upping their intentionality in following Jesus.
Here's a recent testimony from a participant in a small group using the first guidebook in the Get Discipled series:
Hi, I'm Dave (the skinny guy in the middle), and I've launched this website in hopes of helping both of us grow in our discipleship to Jesus. I trust you'll find on these pages the kinds of practical tools you need to take your next steps in your journey with him.
I became a follower of Christ when I was nine years old, but it wasn't until my early adult years that I began "to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ" (Eph. 3:18) and to come to grips with the joyous implications of being his disciple. I'm finding him to be more and more winsome the better I get to know him.
Since 1993 I've had the privilege of serving in several pastoral roles, most recently as Pastor of Adult Ministries at The Compass Church in Naperville, Illinois. I earned my MA in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary, my MDiv from Trinity International University, and my DMin in Discipleship from Talbot School of Theology.
